According to the Alzheimer’s Association, this memory condition is the only cause of death in the top 10 in the U.S. that can’t be cured, prevented or treated in any way, what’s more troubling is that someone develops Alzheimer’s every 67 seconds. So, when people hear of a possible treatment method for this detrimental disease, they’re bound to get excited.
The drug is able to attack amyloids, distinct proteins in the brain found in large clumps in Alzheimer’s patients, according to BBC News. If the clumps weren’t there, people may be able to be themselves a little longer than initially anticipated by physicians.”
